Term vs. No Term Membership
A Membership with a term date will have an End Date which is determined by the membership type’s Term length in Months + Term length in Days based upon the Memberships start date.
A No Term Membership will continue without termination until it is cancelled by an administrator.
When a Membership with a term date is renewed it will renew with the currently owned member’s membership, the renewed start date will be the term date of the currently owned membership. For example, the current membership (24 month) is set to expire on 4/4/2016, when renewed the start date of the membership will be on 4/4/2016.
At the renewal the ability to also upgrade or downgrade the currently owned membership once termed will be an option.
A No Term Membership would not have the ability to renew since it does not have an end date.
A membership that has a term date can also roll into a new membership once the current membership expires. To set up the membership roll to type this is done when creating the membership type itself. However, a member’s membership that is set to expire does not have a roll to membership, or if you want to change the current roll to membership you can update this information.
- To do so you will need to view the member’s membership and in the Actions Column click on “Adjust”
- Next to Rollover Membership Type select the correct package you want the membership to roll into by selecting it from the dropdown
- Add a Reason
- Click on “Save”
A No Term Membership would not have the ability to roll since it does not have a term date.
