Installation Star Micronics Receipt Printer

 

  •  Download Printer Drivers from the Star Micronics Site 
  • http://www.starmicronics.com/support/default.aspx
  • Select Proper Drivers based on Product Type, Printer Family, Printer Model, Interface, Operating System
  • Download the Alternate Driver (futurePRNT V5.3 lite)
  • Save to a folder on your C: Drive
  • Unzip (Extract) the drivers to the C: Drive
  • Run the setup
  • Click Installation – run through the installation process
  • Down Load Windows Printer Patch
  • http://www.shapenetsoftware.com/drv/prt/SPrtInst_1.1.zip (Please contact us for this Patch)
  • Save to a folder on your c:drive
  • Extract the files to folder on c:drive
  • Open the SPrtInst_1.1
  • Double Click the Command Shell
  • In the Command Shell at the prompt (“>”) Type  Install.bat
RESULTS: The following might display for each of the three files being copied: DESTINATION DIRECTORY [C:\WINDOWS\System32]Does C:\WINDOWS\System32\mscomct2.ocx specify a file name or directory name on the target (F = file, D = directory)?
 
  • Type F three times
  • Type Install.Bat again – if the patch was installed correctly the result should be 0 files copied
  • Connect Printer to Computer (Windows should recognize the printer and the Found New Hardware information window will pop up with the printer’s name in it)
  • Test Printer and Cash Drawer Installation
  • Click the Start button ->All Programs -> StarMicronics -> Star TSP100 Configuration Utility
  • Select Star Line Mode (default) and click OK
  • Click on the Print Test on the left hand side of the screen
  • Click on the Barcode Print button
  • Shape Receipt Printer Settings
  • Tools -> System Settings -> Receipt Printer Settings
  • Has Receipt Printer = Yes
  • Receipt Printer Name ( Name should be the same as windows printer name)
  • Enable 64Bit Printing = Yes if operating system is 64 bit = No if operating system is 32bit (if you have more than one computer that are mix, you must select 64 for the 32 because they all must have the setting in your shape system)
  • Has Cash Drawer = Yes if have cash drawer = No if no cash drawer
  • Enable Active X Settings
  • Click on Internet Explorer’s Tool
  • Click on Internet Options
  • Click Security Tab à Security Tab -> Trusted Sites -> Sites
  • Your Shape URL should be listed in the Websites Box. If it is not , add it by typing the URL in the ADD this website to the zone box and click ADD
  • Make sure the Box is checked for “Require Server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
  • Click Close
  • On Security Tab with Trusted Sites selected
  • Click on Custom Level Button
    • Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without prompt: Enable
    • Allow Scriptlets: Enable
    • Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls: Disable
    • Binary and script behaviors: Enable
    • Display Video and Animation...: Enable
    • Download signed ActiveX controls: Enable
    • Download unsigned ActiveX controls: Enable
    • Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: Enable
    • Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Enable
    • Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting: Enable
    • Click OK and OK again and close Internet Explorer completely
  • If Operating System is 64 bit
  • Download the following file
  • http://shapenetsoftware.com/software/StarIOActiveXInstaller.zip (Contact us for this download)
  • Unzip the file and save on the c:drive
  • Double click the StarIOActiveX.exe file and it will install automatically
  • Check your system settings in Shape.Net to make sure your receipt printer setting is set to allow 64bit printing.
