Income Categories

An Income Category is similar to a chart of accounts (COA). A COA is a financial organizational tool that provides a complete listing of every account in an accounting system. An account is a unique record for each type of asset, liability, equity, revenue and expense.

Income Categories are a tag that can be used across Services, Memberships and Products.

When creating a Service, Membership, or Product type, you’ll see an option for Income Category on the Add Type form.  It has the typical Add New option in the drop down, and is created and assigned much like a Product Category (the difference is that the product category is ONLY available in that TYPE).

Once an Income Category is created, it is available in all three Add Type screens (Services, Memberships and Products).

Income Category is a Custom Query option on the following pages

-View membership types
-View services types
-Product List
-Financial Transactions Report

Income Category is also a Subtotal line on the Financial Summary and Financial Summary Comparison Reports
